FEPEN Women Development, Training, Research and Documentation
Centre is a women affairs directorate of FEPEN a voluntary Non
- Governmental organization working actively in delivery of
specific schemes of FEPEN'S Agenda.
To provide a focus for Women's studies in the Niger Delta
area of Nigeria through coordination of research projects
which involves establishment of database and monitoring of
impact assessment of projects on women, youth and children.
To set up a documentation centre to gather information and
publication on Niger Delta Women activities, role and achievements
for the use of scholars, researchers and other interested
persons.
To monitor impact of development on the health of Women through
measurement of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) in the
environment.
To provide capacity building through training in environmental
education and skill acquisition programs aimed at increasing
the economic base and conserving the environment.
Intervention in poverty alleviation through innovative techniques
for periwinkle farming, Mushroom cultivation, floriculture,
Animal husbandry, Agriculture, Agro forestry, Planting of multipurpose
trees, dissemination of improved agricultural technologies etc.
Information dissemination through mass media, posters, newsletters,
workshops/seminar/training programs and publications.

| Membership
|
membership is open to
all persons of the Niger Delta origin, Nigerians and foreigners
who are friends of the Niger Delta and its environment at
four levels- full membership, Associate members, corporate
members and Honorary membership.
presently, the membership cut across community leaders,
women, teachers, church leaders and members, community youth
organizations, academia, workers in Government parastatals,
and corporate member. Also more members, foreign and local
partners are still welcome.
